Gynecological Psychosomatics

"Psychosomatics" comes from the Greek and is composed of the words "psyche" for "breath" and "soma" for "body".  Psychosomatics is the study of the interrelationships and mutual influence of the human soul and body.
"Gynaecology" also comes from the Greek and is made up of the Greek word "gynē", which means "woman", and -logy, which stands for "teaching". Together, "gynecology" literally means "the study of women".

Psychosomatics deals with the interaction of psychological, social and somatic processes in the development and maintenance of illnesses and their treatment.

Gynaecological psychosomatics emphasizes that many gynaecological complaints and illnesses are not only caused by biological or mechanical factors, but are also influenced by psychological stress, lifestyle factors, cultural and social influences and emotional states.

In the sense of a holistic treatment of gynecological complaints, the therapy of physical ailments is just as important in my practice as the therapy of associated psychological stress.

You can find out more about my holistic therapy services in a free preliminary consultation.
